Air Fryer Orange Chicken Recipe (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Chicken

01 - 1 pound chicken breast, cut into 1-inch cubes
02 - 1 tablespoon low sodium tamari or soy sauce
03 - 2 tablespoons corn or tapioca starch
04 - 3 tablespoons plain gluten-free breadcrumbs (no extra seasonings)

→ Orange Sauce

05 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
06 - 2 teaspoons fresh grated ginger (or 1/2 teaspoon dried)
07 - 1 tablespoon oil
08 - 1 cup orange juice
09 - 1 tablespoon orange zest
10 - 1/4 cup honey
11 - 1/4 cup low sodium tamari or soy sauce
12 - 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
13 - 2-3 teaspoons sriracha, or to taste
14 - 1 tablespoon cornstarch
15 - 2 tablespoons water

# Instructions:

01 - In a bowl, toss the cubed chicken breast with soy sauce and let it marinate for about 15 minutes.
02 - Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
03 - First toss the marinated chicken with cornstarch, then coat with breadcrumbs until evenly covered.
04 - Place the coated chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 10-14 minutes, giving them a gentle toss halfway through. Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of your chicken pieces.
05 - While the chicken cooks, sauté minced garlic in oil in a pot until lightly golden brown.
06 - Add orange juice, zest, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sriracha to the garlic. Bring to a gentle simmer.
07 - In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water. Add this mixture to the simmering sauce and stir until it thickens. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly to thicken more.
08 - Once chicken is fully cooked, let it cool for a couple minutes. Toss with about half to two-thirds of the warm sauce. Serve with the remaining sauce on the side, along with steamed broccoli or rice if desired.

# Notes:

01 - For regular soy sauce, use only 3 tablespoons to avoid overpowering the dish
02 - Honey can be replaced with any preferred sweetener
03 - This version is less sweet than restaurant-style orange chicken
04 - Makes extra sauce for serving on the side
