Authentic Italian Tiramisu Recipe (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 cups (500g) mascarpone.
02 - 24 Savoiardi biscuits (ladyfingers).
03 - 1 cup (230ml) strong brewed coffee.
04 - 3 tablespoons grated dark chocolate.
05 - 4 egg yolks, room temperature.
06 - 3 egg whites, room temperature.
07 - 6 tablespoons sugar.
08 - 4 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional).
09 - 1 tablespoon cocoa powder.

# Instructions:

01 - Separate eggs. Whisk yolks with 3 tablespoons sugar until pale. Add mascarpone and whisk until smooth.
02 - With clean beaters, whip egg whites until frothy. Add 3 tablespoons sugar, whisk to stiff peaks.
03 - Fold egg whites into mascarpone mixture one-third at a time until incorporated.
04 - Mix coffee and liqueur in shallow bowl. Quickly dip ladyfingers (2-3 seconds each).
05 - Layer soaked ladyfingers, mascarpone mixture, and chocolate. Repeat layers. Dust with cocoa.
06 - Refrigerate 6-8 hours or overnight.

01 - Use crisp Italian Savoiardi cookies.
02 - Can substitute coffee liqueur with other liqueurs.
03 - Best made ahead and chilled overnight.
04 - Keeps 2-3 days in fridge.
