In a small bowl, thoroughly whisk instant banana pudding mix with milk until smooth. Set aside.

In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt unsalted butter. Add mini marshmallows and stir constantly until completely melted and mixture is smooth.

Pour the prepared banana pudding mixture into the melted marshmallow mixture and stir until fully incorporated.

Remove the saucepan from heat. Gently fold in crispy rice cereal until evenly coated, then add crushed vanilla wafers and mix to distribute throughout.

Lightly grease a 33 x 23 cm rectangular pan. Press the mixture evenly into the prepared pan using a greased spatula or wax paper to prevent sticking. Melt white chocolate chips if desired and drizzle over the surface.

Allow the treats to cool completely at room temperature for approximately 60 minutes. Once set, cut into squares and serve.
