Caramelized Onion Brie Toast (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 2 slices sourdough bread

→ Caramelized Onions

02 - 1 large onion, thinly sliced
03 - 2 tablespoons olive oil
04 - 1 tablespoon butter
05 - Salt, to taste
06 - Black pepper, to taste

→ Topping

07 - 115 grams brie cheese, sliced
08 - Fresh thyme leaves
09 - Honey, for drizzling

# Instructions:

01 - Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add thinly sliced onions and a pinch of salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, until onions are golden brown and deeply caramelized, about 20 to 25 minutes. Deglaze pan with a splash of water if needed, and season with black pepper.
02 - Preheat oven to 175°C. Arrange sourdough slices on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 5 to 7 minutes until crisp and lightly browned.
03 - Top each toasted sourdough slice generously with caramelized onions. Arrange brie cheese slices on top and sprinkle with fresh thyme leaves.
04 - Return assembled toasts to the oven for 5 minutes, or until brie just begins to melt.
05 - Remove toasts from oven, drizzle with honey, and garnish with additional fresh thyme if desired. Serve immediately.

# Notes:

01 - Slow caramelization of onions develops sweetness and depth of flavor.
02 - Brie should be just softened, not fully melted, for the best texture.
