Cheddar and Bacon Turkey Melt (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Bread and Meats

01 - 8 slices of your favorite bread (sourdough or rye work great)
02 - 1/2 pound sliced turkey breast, fresh from the deli
03 - 8 crispy bacon slices

→ Cheese and Spreads

04 - 4 thick slices of cheddar cheese
05 - 4 tablespoons soft butter for grilling
06 - 2 tablespoons creamy mayonnaise
07 - 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (skip if you're not a fan)

→ Fresh Toppings

08 - 1 ripe tomato, sliced thin
09 - 1/4 cup fresh crisp lettuce, roughly chopped

# Instructions:

01 - Stir together the mayo and Dijon mustard in a small bowl until well combined. This adds a nice tangy kick to your sandwich.
02 - Grab your bread slices and lay them out. Spread each slice with your mayo-mustard mix. Layer on the cheddar, turkey, and bacon. Add tomato if you're using it. Top with the second slice of bread. Butter the outside of both pieces of bread - this is the secret to getting that perfect golden crust!
03 - Heat up your skillet over medium heat. Once it's hot, place your sandwiches in and let them cook for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Flip carefully and cook the other side until the cheese gets all melty and the bread is crispy.
04 - Once they're done, slice them diagonally (because sandwiches always taste better cut on the diagonal!) and add some fresh lettuce either inside or on the side for that perfect crunch.

# Notes:

01 - Try using smoked turkey for an extra flavor boost
02 - Add sliced avocado for extra creaminess
03 - Spice it up with hot sauce or jalapeños if you like heat
