Chia Flax Seed Crackers (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 80g chia seeds
02 - 80g flax seeds
03 - 240ml water
04 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
05 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
06 - 0.5 teaspoon sea salt
07 - 0.5 teaspoon dried thyme

# Instructions:

01 - Set oven to 150°C (300°F) to allow the mixture to dry and crisp without burning sensitive seeds.
02 - Line a baking tray with parchment paper, allowing for slight overhang to ease removal.
03 - In a medium bowl, combine chia seeds and flax seeds thoroughly for even distribution.
04 - Stir water into seed blend. Allow mixture to rest 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until a gel-like texture forms.
05 - Add garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt, and dried thyme to the hydrated mixture. Mix well until seasonings are fully integrated.
06 - Transfer mixture onto prepared baking sheet. Evenly spread to approximately 3mm thickness using a spatula or the back of a spoon. For consistency, overlay with a second sheet of parchment and flatten with a rolling pin.
07 - Remove parchment overlay if used. Lightly score surface into cracker-sized pieces using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
08 - Bake in preheated oven for 35–40 minutes until edges are golden and the center is set. Optionally, flip halfway through baking for enhanced crispness.
09 - Allow to cool completely on the baking sheet. Crackers will continue to crisp as they cool.
10 - Once fully cooled, break along the scored lines or snap into desired sizes.

# Notes:

01 - A longer resting period enhances the binding of seeds, resulting in a crispier texture.
