Gulab Jamun Cookies Rose Glaze (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Dough

01 - 300 grams gulab jamun instant mix
02 - 200 grams plain flour
03 - 125 grams unsalted butter
04 - 200 grams granulated sugar
05 - 3 to 4 tablespoons milk, plus extra as needed

→ Rose Glaze (optional)

06 - 50 grams icing sugar
07 - 1 tablespoon rose water

→ Decoration (optional)

08 - Crushed dried rose petals
09 - Edible gold leaf

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 180°C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
02 - In a mixing bowl, beat unsalted butter and granulated sugar until pale and creamy.
03 - Add gulab jamun mix and plain flour to the creamed butter and sugar. Mix until crumbly.
04 - Add milk one tablespoon at a time, mixing after each addition, until the dough binds together.
05 - Roll dough into equal sized balls. Place on prepared baking tray, spaced evenly.
06 - Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until cookies are golden-brown all over.
07 - Remove cookies from oven and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
08 - In a small bowl, whisk icing sugar and rose water until a smooth glaze forms.
09 - Drizzle cooled cookies with rose glaze, then garnish with crushed rose petals and edible gold leaf as desired.

01 - Ensure butter is at room temperature for optimal creaming. If dough appears too dry, add milk sparingly for proper consistency.
