In a mixing bowl, beat unsalted butter and granulated sugar until pale and creamy.

Add gulab jamun mix and plain flour to the creamed butter and sugar. Mix until crumbly.

Add milk one tablespoon at a time, mixing after each addition, until the dough binds together.

Roll dough into equal sized balls. Place on prepared baking tray, spaced evenly.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until cookies are golden-brown all over.

Remove cookies from oven and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

In a small bowl, whisk icing sugar and rose water until a smooth glaze forms.

Drizzle cooled cookies with rose glaze, then garnish with crushed rose petals and edible gold leaf as desired.
