Combine dried butterfly pea flowers or tea bags in a heatproof container. Pour the hot water over and steep for 5 to 7 minutes, until the infusion is a deep blue.

Stir in honey or sugar while the tea is hot until dissolved. Cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until thoroughly chilled.

Fill a tall glass with ice cubes. Pour the chilled butterfly pea flower tea over the ice until the glass is half full.

Slowly pour milk over the back of a spoon onto the tea to create a layered effect.

Garnish with lemon or lime slices, edible flowers, or lightly dust with cinnamon or matcha powder. Stir gently before drinking or enjoy the natural layering.
