Lemon Zest Butter Rice (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 400 grams long-grain white rice (such as basmati)
02 - 56 grams unsalted butter
03 - 0.5 teaspoon fine sea salt
04 - 720 millilitres water
05 - Zest of 1 lemon
06 - Juice of 1 lemon
07 - 0.125 teaspoon ground turmeric (optional)

→ Garnish

08 - 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

# Instructions:

01 - Rinse the rice under cold running water using a fine mesh strainer or bowl, agitating until water runs clear, approximately 1 minute.
02 - In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add rinsed rice and salt; cook for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until grains are slightly toasted and aromatic.
03 - Add water, lemon zest, and lemon juice to the pot. Stir to combine. Increase heat to bring to a boil, then reduce to low, cover, and let simmer gently for 15 minutes.
04 - Remove from heat, keeping the pot covered. Allow rice to rest undisturbed for 5 to 10 minutes for optimal texture.
05 - If using, sprinkle turmeric evenly over the rice, then fluff with a fork to distribute. Transfer to serving dish and garnish with chopped parsley.

# Notes:

01 - Ensure rice is thoroughly rinsed to remove excess starch for separate, fluffy grains.
