Roasted Parmesan Asparagus (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 pound fresh asparagus
02 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
03 - 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
04 - 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
05 - 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
06 - 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
07 - Red pepper flakes (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Rinse and dry the asparagus with paper towels. Trim the woody ends by slicing about 1 inch from the bottom of the spears using a kitchen knife.
03 - Place the asparagus in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil, season with kosher salt and black pepper, then toss to coat evenly. Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese over the asparagus.
04 - Roast in the oven at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10 minutes, until the asparagus is fork-tender.
05 - Remove asparagus from the oven and drizzle with fresh lemon juice. Optionally, sprinkle with red pepper flakes before serving.

# Notes:

01 - Select firm, bright green asparagus with minimal blemishes.
02 - Ensure asparagus is dry before seasoning for better roasting results.
03 - Keep an eye on the asparagus while roasting to avoid overcooking.
04 - To store, cool completely and place in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
