Steak Goat Cheese Crostini (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 6 oz goat cheese, room temperature.
02 - 1-2 tablespoons prepared horseradish.
03 - 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt.
04 - 1 teaspoon dried basil leaves.
05 - 1 baguette, cut into 1/2 inch slices.
06 - Extra virgin olive oil for brushing.
07 - 1 (6 oz) top sirloin steak, room temperature.
08 - Kosher salt and black pepper to taste.
09 - Fresh basil leaves.
10 - Balsamic glaze.

# Instructions:

01 - Let steak come to room temperature. Pat dry and season generously with salt and pepper.
02 - Mix goat cheese, horseradish, salt and dried basil in a small bowl until combined.
03 - Brush baguette slices with olive oil. Broil until golden brown, watching closely to prevent burning.
04 - Heat cast iron skillet over medium-high. Add oil and sear steak 2-3 minutes per side until internal temp reaches 125-130°F for medium-rare. Rest 10 minutes before slicing thinly.
05 - Spread goat cheese mixture on crostini, top with basil leaf and steak slice. Drizzle with balsamic glaze and season with salt and pepper.

01 - For gluten-free version, use gluten-free baguette.
02 - Can make goat cheese spread and crostini ahead of time.
03 - Use meat thermometer for perfect steak doneness.
