Tomato Basil Bruschetta (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 pounds ripe tomatoes (5-6 medium).
02 - ½ teaspoon fine sea salt, plus more to taste.
03 - ½ cup finely chopped white onion.
04 - ½ cup chopped fresh basil.
05 - 2 cloves garlic, pressed or minced.
06 - 1 baguette (French bread).
07 - 4-5 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil.
08 - Thick balsamic vinegar for drizzling.
09 - Maldon flaky sea salt (optional).

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 450°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper if desired.
02 - Dice tomatoes, leaving seeds behind. Mix with salt, onion, basil, and garlic. Let marinate.
03 - Cut baguette diagonally into ½-inch slices. Brush both sides with olive oil.
04 - Bake slices for 6-9 minutes until crisp and golden.
05 - Drain excess tomato juice. Add remaining olive oil and season with salt to taste.
06 - Top toasts with tomato mixture, drizzle with balsamic vinegar, and sprinkle with flaky salt if desired.

01 - Tomato mixture can be made 2 days ahead.
02 - Can be grilled instead of baked.
03 - Best served immediately after assembly.
