Walnut Maple Roasted Sweet Potatoes (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Sweet Potato Base

01 - 3 medium sweet potatoes
02 - 80 ml unsalted butter, melted
03 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
04 - 0.5 teaspoon fine salt
05 - 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper

→ Topping

06 - 110 ml pure maple syrup, divided
07 - 40 g walnuts, chopped
08 - 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
09 - 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves

# Instructions:

01 - Thoroughly clean sweet potatoes and cut into 1.25 cm thick rounds, leaving skins on or peeling as preferred.
02 - Set oven to 200°C and allow to fully preheat.
03 - Combine sweet potato rounds with melted butter, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Toss well until evenly coated, using a bowl or sealable plastic bag.
04 - Distribute sweet potato slices in a single layer on a baking tray, leaving space between pieces to avoid overcrowding.
05 - Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until slices are fork-tender. Baking time may vary depending on thickness.
06 - In a bowl, mix remaining maple syrup, chopped walnuts, 0.5 teaspoon cinnamon, and thyme.
07 - Remove tray from oven. Spoon approximately 1 teaspoon of walnut maple mixture over each sweet potato slice.
08 - Return tray to oven and bake for an additional 8–10 minutes, until edges are caramelized.
09 - Serve hot, optionally garnished with crumbled feta cheese if desired.

# Notes:

01 - For enhanced flavor, use fresh thyme and quality maple syrup. Ensure sweet potato slices are not crowded to promote optimum caramelization.
