# Ingredients:

→ For the Chicken Patties

01 - 1 lb ground chicken (preferably dark meat)
02 - 1/2 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped
03 - 1/4 cup shredded white cheddar cheese, plus more for topping
04 - 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
05 - 1 egg
06 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
07 - 1/4 tsp onion powder
08 - 1/4 tsp dried oregano
09 - Salt and pepper, to taste
10 - 1 tbsp olive oil

→ For Assembling

11 - 4 burger buns
12 - Lettuce leaves
13 - Tomato slices
14 - Mustard or aioli (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, chopped spinach, shredded white cheddar, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the mixture.
02 - Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions. Shape each portion into a patty approximately 1/2-inch thick. Create a small indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent puffing during cooking.
03 - Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). During the final 1-2 minutes, top each patty with additional white cheddar and cover to melt.
04 - Lightly toast the burger buns. Place a cooked patty on each bottom bun, add desired toppings such as lettuce and tomato, and finish with condiments. Serve immediately.

# Notes:

01 - Frozen spinach can be substituted for fresh if thawed and thoroughly drained.
02 - For gluten-free option, use gluten-free breadcrumbs and buns.
