# Ingredients:

01 - 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature.
02 - 1/2 cup butter-flavored shortening.
03 - 1 egg, room temperature.
04 - 3 tablespoons buttermilk.
05 - 1/2 teaspoon distilled white vinegar.
06 - 2 teaspoons red food coloring.
07 - 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour.
08 - 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder.
09 - 1/4 teaspoon salt.
10 - 1 cup powdered sugar.
11 - 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (for coating).
12 - 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, sifted (for coating).

# Instructions:

01 - Cream together butter and shortening. Mix in egg, buttermilk, vinegar, vanilla, and food coloring at low speed.
02 - Whisk flour, cocoa powder, salt, and powdered sugar in separate bowl.
03 - Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until dough forms. Cover and chill for 1 hour.
04 - Scoop 1-tablespoon balls, place on parchment-lined sheet 2 inches apart. Bake at 350°F for 12-14 minutes.
05 - Dip warm cookies in melted butter, then coat in powdered sugar. Cool completely, then coat again in powdered sugar.
