The chicken breast gets this amazing crispy parmesan coating that's perfectly seasoned, then it's topped with melty mozzarella and plenty of garlic that creates this incredible golden crust. The chicken stays so juicy inside while the outside gets all crispy and cheesy. It's become my go-to when I want to make dinner feel special without leaving home, and my family actually prefers it to the restaurant version now. The garlic parmesan crust is absolutely addictive!

  • Breadcrumbs: Use whatever kind you like regular Italian or panko they all work great.
  • Seasoning: Italian seasoning garlic and pepper make everything taste amazing.

What to Serve With It

I love serving this chicken with creamy garlic mashed potatoes. Some steamed broccoli or green beans on the side add nice color and freshness. Want to make it extra special? Serve it over pasta with marinara sauce or keep it light with a fresh garden salad.

Make Ahead and Storage

Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge they're good for 3 days. Want that crispy texture back? Reheat in the oven at 350°F. You can even bread and fry the chicken ahead of time then freeze it. Or prep everything up to 24 hours ahead just save the cheese topping for when you're ready to bake.

Mix It Up

Try adding lemon zest and fresh parsley to your breadcrumbs for a bright fresh taste. Love spicy food? Throw in some red pepper flakes. Want it extra cheesy? Add some provolone or Asiago. Need gluten free? Just swap in gluten free flour and breadcrumbs. And for extra crunch try using all panko breadcrumbs.

Frequently Asked Questions

→ How do I ensure the chicken stays crispy?

Double dip the chicken in egg and bread crumb mixture for extra crispiness. Also, make sure to properly brown the chicken in the skillet before baking.

→ Can I prepare this ahead of time?

You can bread the chicken ahead and refrigerate, but for best results, cook just before serving to maintain the crispy coating.

The chicken should be cooked through with no pink inside, and cheese should be melted and bubbly. Using a meat thermometer, it should reach 165°F.

→ What sides go well with this dish?

Garlic mashed potatoes, side salad, or roasted vegetables pair perfectly. Choose sides that complement the rich, cheesy chicken.
